Equipment

  • Air fryer
  • Mixing bowls
  • Fork for mashing
  • Whisk
  • Small oven-safe pan or baking dish
  • Parchment paper
  • Spatula

Ingredients

  • 3 ripe bananas
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup melted butter or coconut oil for a lighter option
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or chocolate chips optional

Instructions

Prepare Bananas

  • Start by mashing the ripe bananas in a large bowl until smooth. I find that very ripe bananas work best for the sweetest, most flavorful bread.

Mix Wet Ingredients

  • Stir in granulated sugar, brown sugar, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract until everything is well combined.

Combine Dry Ingredients

  • In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt.

Combine Mixtures

  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the banana mixture, stirring just until combined. If you’re using walnuts or chocolate chips, fold them in gently at this stage.

Preheat Air Fryer

  • Preheat your air fryer to 320°F (160°C) for about 3 minutes.

Prepare the Pan

  • Line a small, oven-safe pan or baking dish with parchment paper, and lightly grease it to ensure the bread doesn’t stick.

Air Fry

  • Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top. Place the pan in the air fryer basket and cook at 320°F (160°C) for 20-25 minutes. Check for doneness with a toothpick; it should come out clean when inserted into the center.

Cool and Serve

  • Let the banana bread cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely. Slice and enjoy!

Notes

For an extra special touch, you can sprinkle a bit of sugar on top of the batter before air frying. This adds a delightful crunch to the crust.
Also, feel free to get creative with mix-ins—dried fruit or a swirl of peanut butter can make your banana bread uniquely yours!
