  • 1 ½ teaspoons salt
  • 2 ¼ teaspoons active dry yeast 1 packet
  • 1 ½ cups warm water 110°F
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil or melted butter
  • 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup

Instructions
 

Activate the Yeast

  • In a small bowl, combine warm water and honey. Stir in the active dry yeast and let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.

Prepare the Dough

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine Bob’s Red Mill Whole Wheat Flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture and olive oil to the flour, mixing until it forms a dough. You can knead the dough by hand or use a stand mixer with a dough hook for 8-10 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.

First Rise

  • Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 to 1 ½ hours until it doubles in size.

Shape the Dough

  • Once risen, punch down the dough to release any air. Shape it into a loaf and place it in a greased 9x5-inch loaf pan.

Second Rise
