Equipment

  • Large mixing bowl
  • Deep frying pan or air fryer
  • Spoon for mixing
  • Paper towels for draining
  • Small bowls for coating ingredients

Ingredients

For Bread Cheese Balls

  • Bread Slices: 6–8 slices crusts removed and crumbled
  • Mozzarella Cheese: 1 cup shredded
  • Boiled Potato: 1 medium mashed (adds structure)
  • Green Chili: 1–2 finely chopped (optional for extra spice)
  • Salt: To taste
  • Black Pepper: ½ tsp freshly ground
  • Fresh Coriander Leaves: 2 tbsp finely chopped

For Coating

  • All-Purpose Flour: ¼ cup mixed with a little water for a thick paste
  • Bread Crumbs: 1 cup for extra crunch

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Bread Mixture

  • Place the crumbled bread slices in a large mixing bowl. Moisten them slightly with water if needed.
  • Add the shredded mozzarella, mashed potato, green chili, salt, pepper, and coriander leaves.
  • Mix everything thoroughly until the ingredients form a dough-like consistency.

Step 2: Shape the Cheese Balls

  • Take a small amount of the mixture (around a tablespoon) and roll it into a ball with your hands.
  • Repeat with the remaining mixture until you’ve used it all, placing the balls on a plate.

Step 3: Coat the Cheese Balls

  • Dip each cheese ball in the flour paste, coating it evenly.
  • Roll the coated cheese ball in bread crumbs, ensuring it’s covered completely for a crispy exterior.

Step 4: Frying the Cheese Balls

  • Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat.
  • Once the oil is hot (about 350°F or 175°C), carefully place a few cheese balls into the oil.
  • Fry until they turn golden brown, turning occasionally for an even color.
  • Remove the cheese balls and drain them on paper towels to absorb any extra oil.

Optional: You can also cook these in an air fryer at 375°F for 8-10 minutes if you prefer a lighter, oil-free option.
