Ingredients
  

For the Bread Dough:

  • 4 ½ cups all-purpose flour or bread flour for a chewier texture
  • 1 ½ tablespoons sugar
  • 1 ½ teaspoons salt
  • 1 ½ tablespoons instant dry yeast
  • 1 ½ cups warm water 110°F/43°C
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil or vegetable oil
  • ¾ cup milk room temperature

For the Cheese and Bacon Filling:

  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese or a mix of your favorite cheeses like mozzarella or Monterey Jack
  • 12 slices cooked bacon crumbled (use more if you’re a bacon lover!)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder optional for extra flavor
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons fresh chopped parsley optional, for garnish

Instructions
 

  • Prepare the Dough: In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, salt, and yeast. Add warm water, olive oil, and milk. Stir until a dough forms.
  • Knead the Dough: Transfer to a floured surface and knead for 5–7 minutes, until smooth and elastic.
  • First Rise: Place dough in an oiled bowl, cover with a damp towel, and let rise for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
  • Make the Filling: In a bowl, mix the shredded cheese, crumbled bacon, garlic powder, and black pepper.
  • Shape the Bread: Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out into a rectangle. Spread the cheese and bacon mixture evenly on top.
  • Roll & Second Rise: Roll the dough up into a log, tuck the ends, and place it in a greased baking pan. Let it rise for another 30-40 minutes.
  • Bake: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Brush the top of the dough with a little milk or butter. Bake for 25–30 minutes, until golden brown.
  • Serve: Let the bread cool slightly before slicing. Garnish with chopped parsley if desired. Enjoy your cheesy, bacon-filled creation!
