Ingredients
  

  • 2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 ½ teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon fine sea salt
  • 1 ⅓ cups unsalted butter softened
  • 1 ⅔ cups white granulated sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 ½ teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 ¼ cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 ½ cups buttermilk room temperature
  • cup vegetable oil

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a loaf pan.
  • In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  • In a separate bowl, cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
  • Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  • Alternate adding the dry ingredients and buttermilk to the wet mixture, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips and vegetable oil until evenly distributed.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
  • Bake for 50–60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
