Equipment

  • Mixing bowl
  • Hand mixer or stand mixer
  • Baking sheet
  • Parchment paper (optional for easy cleanup)
  • Spoon or cookie scoop
  • Small bowl (for the glaze)
  • Wire rack for cooling

Ingredients

For the Cookies:

  • 1 cup 2 sticks unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 box white cake mix 15.25 oz
  • 1 large egg

For the Glaze:

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter melted
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

Preheat the Oven:

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.

Mix the Dough:

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened butter, cake mix, and egg. Use a hand mixer or stand mixer to beat the ingredients together until the dough is well combined and smooth.

Form the Cookies:

  • Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough and roll them into balls. Place them on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.

Bake:

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 10–12 minutes or until the edges of the cookies are lightly golden. Be careful not to overbake; they should still be soft in the center.

Make the Glaze:

  • While the cookies are baking, prepare the glaze by whisking together the powdered sugar, melted butter, water, and vanilla extract in a small bowl until smooth.

Glaze the Cookies:

  • Once the cookies are baked and slightly cooled, drizzle the glaze over the warm cookies. Allow the glaze to set as the cookies cool completely on a wire rack.
