  • 2 tablespoons 30 mL creamy peanut butter
  • ¼ cup 60 mL buttermilk
  • ½ teaspoon 2.5 mL pure vanilla extract

Frosting:

  • 2 tablespoons 30 mL buttermilk
  • ¼ cup 60 mL butter
  • 2 tablespoons 30 mL peanut butter
  • cups 310 mL powdered sugar
  • ½ tablespoon 7.5 mL pure vanilla extract

Instructions
 

Preheat Oven:

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13-inch (23x33 cm) baking pan.

Prepare Cake Batter:

  • In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, salt, and baking soda.
  • In another bowl, beat together the butter, sugar, and brown sugar until creamy.
  • Add the egg, and mix until well combined.
  • Stir in the creamy peanut butter and vanilla extract.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with the water and buttermilk. Mix until smooth.

Bake:

  • Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow the cake to cool completely in the pan on a wire rack.

Prepare Frosting:

  • In a mixing bowl, beat together the butter and peanut butter until smooth.
  • Gradually add the powdered sugar, mixing well after each addition.
  • Stir in the buttermilk and vanilla extract until the frosting is creamy and spreadable.

Frost the Cake:
