Ingredients
  

For the Cake:

  • 1 box butter pecan cake mix approx. 15.25 oz
  • 1 cup water
  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • ½ cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

For the Butter Cream Cheese Frosting:

  • 12 oz cream cheese softened
  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 5 cups powdered sugar
  • teaspoons vanilla extract
  • Extra toasted pecans for garnish

Instructions
 

Preheat the Oven

  • Set your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and lightly flour your baking pan(s).

Mix the Cake Batter

  • In a large bowl, combine the butter pecan cake mix, water, vegetable oil, and eggs. Mix until the batter is smooth and well blended, about 2 minutes on medium speed.

Add Pecans and Flavor

  • Stir in the chopped pecans, melted butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Mix just until combined.

Bake the Cake
